I mentioned the Hawaii trash problem to my sister who lives on the mainland, and knows nothing of the east/west split, etc. She said - "The Big Island has a volcano, right? - Why don't you dump all the trash into the volcano and stop worrying about where to put it. You have the best natural furnace on earth right in your backyard."
Never thought of that. Why don't we do that? It's a really big hole and it will be good for as long as Pele chooses.
