Separate East and West Planning Commissions That is what councilman Pilago is proposing according to this WHT article. But council chairman Stacey Higa refuses to allow it to be waived to a full council vote,so it can make it on to the November ballot. He claims it will be a precursor to splitting the island into two counties.I disagree, having all the final planning decisions made in Hilo is one of the reasons why we have such a infrastructure mess in West Hawaii.
Mr. Higa, I'm getting very weary of your continued finger pointing and lack of leadership.It seems you blame everyone else, besides yourself.
I'm certainly not going to vote for you for mayor, if you decide to run in 2008. Your leadership style is not bringing this island together, but instead splitting this island apart.
